Some problems such as misfires and evaporative emission (EVAP) leaks can be very challenging to nail down. Misfires can be caused by ignition problems, fuel problems or compression problems. The underlying cause might be fouled spark plugs, bad plug wires, a weak ignition coil, dirty injectors, a shorted or open injector, low fuel pressure, a vacuum leak, a leaky head gasket, burned exhaust valve or a camshaft with a bad lobe.
B2206 Mitsubishi Possible Solution:
Excessive air inflow can be caused by a vacuum leak, a dirty sensor or, an exhaust gas recirculation valve not closing properly. If the problem is not enough fuel, the culprit may be dirty injectors or fuel filters, a weak fuel pump or a leaky fuel pressure regulator. The lean fuel mix error may be accompanied by rough idling, engine misfires, hesitation during acceleration and overall poor engine performance.

B2206 Mitsubishi Trouble Repair :
If your B2206 Mitsubishi check engine light is illuminated, it's best to take it in for diagnostic testing, which can feel like a hassle. Because while the lights vary in appearance from vehicle to vehicle, all have the same basic meaning: There's a problem with the car's emissions system. The on-board diagnostics system and engine control unit are in charge of monitoring a bunch of different, and if they get a reading that's a little out of whack, up pops the check engine light.
